I just ordered an Ultra 5(333mhz/128meg/9g/24bitgfx) and a 21" moniter for
about $3300 with their educational promotional offer.  You do not need a
student ID.  All you need is a sun shop login (free) and a credit card to
make the purchase.  

(confusing directions)
Go to the "buy" option in the upper left hand corner of the main sun page,
select "online" and usa as the destinatio (click go) then click on the
educational promotions in the lower right hand corner, then click
"workstation winter warmer"  when you log in with a sunstore id (easy to
get one, its free) then you'll be able to add it to your shopping cart.

Note:  You will either need a 13w to vga adapter ($50) or a VGA(HD15)
male-to-male cable with the 21" moniter, as the Ultra 5 has a hd15 video
interface.
