go back to May
My dad was moved to home. He was told my mom was going on a trip for two weeks, so he wouldn't worry or want to go home with her.
Nancy visited dad at the home, and he asked if she had keys to his car. When she said she didn't, he said, "Oh George." She didn't stay long, because she didn't want him getting ideas about really leaving. Mom's neighbor Leon has been taking Dad out for ice cream.
I made freedom rings using pop can tops and nail polish. I was going to try to sell them at the San Jose and San Francisco Pride Parades, but I only wound up selling two (and that was at a Baycon meeting... Sylvan and his boyfriend Dan each bought one).
Rachel and I missed the BFD concert. I lost the tickets! So, we left early that weekend to visit Santa Maria.
The Pride Parades were fun. San Jose is getting bigger, though I know lots of people who live in San Jose who only go to the SF Parade. San Francisco was turned around so it started at the end of Market Street and ended at Civic Center. It was way too crowded. I wanted to go to Nyala Restaurant in that area, but there was a huge sea of people, and we (Debbie, Rachel, and I) got tired of pushing through bodies just to get out, so we went home.
We met a girl named Ellen on the way to San Francisco Pride on Caltrain. She has a girlfriend named Charlotte who wasn't able to go because she had to work.
I decided not to go to Worldcon this year. There are already many cons going on this summer, and it's too much money.
Patty and I started planning her reunion. She suggested dressing up as Mina and Dracula. I think it has potential... Oh, and Patty bought a Geo. She finally has a car.
Mom, Sue, and Reid flew here to visit, and Sue and Reid drove home in Reid's new MR2 (bought from Ray). With Linda and Ray, we all saw a Winton Marsalis jazz concert. I've decided live jazz is the best kind.
We ate at the same Afghan restaurant as last year before they went home.
